Question: “What is the position of the People of Knowledge regarding the ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth?”

Response: “The maxim regarding this is what Imām al-Shāfiʿī said: “That the ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth is an evidence in and of itself and it does not need someone from the People of Knowledge to act upon it, so if the ṣaḥīḥ ḥadīth reaches the People of Knowledge it is necessary for them to act upon it.”
